Industry Experts Join CD Projekt Red for Next Cyberpunk 2077 Project

CD Projekt Red has gathered a cadre of accomplished developers to begin work on the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077, codenamed Project Orion. The announcement was made on February 6 via an official press release which confirmed a team of industry veterans' participation in the endeavor, operating under CD Projekt Red's North America division. Notably, these individuals have had notable experience with the original Cyberpunk 2077 and the Phantom Liberty expansion.
The crew heading the eagerly-awaited project includes Gabriel Amatangelo, Paweł Sasko, Igor Sarzyński, and Sarah Grümmer. These key figures will oversee the activities of a larger team based in Boston, Massachusetts. Additionally, new faces from Blizzard Entertainment, Ubisoft, Remedy Entertainment, and BioWare will bring their skills and knowledge to the table.
Dan Hernberg, who had previously lent his expertise to Blizzard and Amazon Games on popular titles such as Diablo 3, Apex Legends, and New World, has been introduced as an executive producer. Ryan Barnard, bearing experience from Massive Entertainment, Ubisoft, and IO Interactive, is set to join as the design director.
Also forming part of this powerhouse team is Anna Megill, a lead writer with credits in Remedy Entertainment's Control, Dishonored: Death of The Outsider from Arkane, the much-anticipated Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and the forthcoming Fable game. Alan Villani comes onboard as the engineering director, with his experience from WB Game products and the Mortal Kombat franchise providing invaluable. In the penultimate addition, writer Alexander Freed will play a crucial role in shaping Project Orion's narrative with his extensive game-writing experience. Freed is a bestselling novelist and comic book writer with a long-standing writing career, particularly known for his work on Star Wars: The Old Republic.
The overwhelming reception of Cyberpunk 2077's rebound has confirmed its stature among top RPGs. Now, fans eagerly anticipate the arrival of Project Orion, powered by this all-star team.
