Twitch Preps to Empower Streamers With Inclusion of Viewing Restrictions Feature
Twitch has revealed an upcoming feature allowing streamers to restrict what blocked or banned users can participate in when engaging with content. The latest Patch Notes podcast disclosed that streamers will soon have the capability to prohibit banned streamers from viewing a stream entirely.
However, when the feature rolls out shortly, it won't be enabled by default. Streamers will have to switch it on to control what banned users can or cannot do. Once activated, a banned viewer will lose their stream playback options, effectively unable to watch the stream.
One downside of this feature is that it only applies to users who are logged in. Twitch cannot ban viewers who choose to stream anonymously.
