Final Fantasy 14's new raid armor introduces a wardrobe malfunction that amplifies the lewdness of certain pants, and the community is embracing this bug as if it were a feature.
The Arcadion Raid series was launched last week in Final Fantasy 14 Dawntrail, quickly earning a spot among the game's top raids due to its creative new mechanics. Alongside the new raid, fresh armor pieces were introduced, but these new items have created some unforeseen consequences.
A specific glitch involving one of the new jackets means it fails to render a character's full armor set properly. When paired with the old Subligar armor, characters appear to be wearing nothing but minimal underwear on their lower halves. Essentially, the jacket disrupts the way the trousers are displayed, leading to an unintended comedic effect.
This discovery has taken the Final Fantasy 14 player base by storm. Enthusiasts are deliberately equipping the defective Arcadion jacket to make the bottom half of their gear vanish, proudly strolling around with their characters in a state of undress. Not surprisingly, the initial snapshot of this phenomenon was captured in Limsa Lominsa.
There’s no denying that the Subligar gear was risqué to begin with. The introduction of the Arcadion jacket has simply magnified its provocative nature, transforming the entire outfit into a bold statement. One can only wonder if someone will raise this issue with game director Naoki Yoshida, perhaps causing him the same level of discomfort as when the low-poly grapes incident from Endwalker was addressed.
Meanwhile, in a separate saga, scalpers are exploiting a limited-time Final Fantasy 14 promotional event by stockpiling boba, aiming to sell a mount to the game's community for prices as steep as $150 each.
