Guide: Scenarios in The Sims 4

There is a new scenario mode in the basic The Sims 4. Whether it's worth playing it at all and how to do it is in our guide.

How The Sims 4 Scripts Work

At its core, these are kinds of tests for players who are bored of coming up with their own global goals for the game because there is no global quest to complete in the basic Sims 4. The analog of quests here are life goals (which, however, can really be similar to tasks from role-playing games if we are talking about add-ons like Strangerville).

For lack of other goals in the huge sandbox, the player community itself has long been coming up with challenges for themselves and each other (although much more inventive and extreme), so the mechanics of scenarios are an easier way to try something like this on their own, without inventing anything or downloading mods.

At the moment, there are only two "permanent" scenarios in the game — "From poverty to wealth" and "In search of love after a breakup" — and one temporary, changing every month.

Each of the challenges can be completed in any way — the main thing is to come to the result that is required in the description of the scenario (it will helpfully hang in the upper left corner of the screen). At the same time, the codes, as in the same series of The Sims Stories spin-offs, are not disabled. In other words, you can go through any scenario in just two minutes — it's enough to know the necessary cheats.

How to run a script in The Sims 4

- Click on the "New Script" button in the main menu.
- Select the story you want to play.
- After that, you need to select the save file in which you will play. You can select both an existing one and a new one.
- Next, create a family in the editor. Please note: there are certain requirements for some scenarios (for example, the characters do not have to be members of the same family).
- After that, select the site where you will settle the character or family.

Unfortunately, it is not possible to play a scenario with characters living in your game world right now. At the same time, the developers promise to add this feature to the game. We will definitely update this guide in this case (as well as if significant changes are made to the mode).

What rewards are given for completing the script

Many players hoped that some skins and items would be given out for passing the tests. Unfortunately, you don't have to wait for freebies here — you can only count on 5,000 bonus happiness points for completing the challenge. The good news, however, is that these points are given to each character of the family with which you go through the script.

You can replay the completed scenarios in a new way. Thus, for example, you can combine similar goals and scenarios for a new character at the very beginning of the game in order to get more happiness points as a result.

How to pass scripts using codes

If you are only interested in bonus points, then we offer you simple ways to get them using cheats.

- "From poverty to wealth": everything is simple here: enter Motherlode all the way. The game will calmly count you such a passage.
- "In search of love after a breakup": enter the code to improve romantic relationships: modify relationship First Name Last Name Last Name 85 LTR_Romance_Main. You need to enter it twice, swapping the names of the characters. This is due to the fact that the first name in the code is the character whose attitude you change to the character whose name is indicated by the second.
- "Festive fuss": the same code as above will do here, or the code for friendly relations: modifyrelationship First Name Last Name Last Name 20 LTR_Friendship_Main.
